Is it the first time you have given it curry with that much weight in the car? What I am getting at is, what has changed recently? This is the first time I had 3 adults in the car. Looks like the extra weight is the cause of pinging. It is just the extra weight that has made it noticeable. It has probably been pinging away with only you in the car however, it may not have been severe and you may not have noticed it.Pinging really is an engine killer, I would be going for a retune somewhere asap.Question for the experts here (anyone who has owned a T more than 5 mins I think is the definition on this site). Is pinging brought on more by incorrect timing or also AFR or both? This is a high load point for turbo 6s and its usually where detonation will show up most. Id try it on the 8psi map until you can have it re tuned. the tuner obviously set the advance a degree or so too high and combined with 10psi is causing detonation. If the 8psi tune has the same timing map then it should be fine to run on 8psi under the higher load of the extra bums in the back. I'm contacting the tuner to get this issue resolved. Until then I'm not taking this beast over 3000 revs may have to put the valet mode.
