As the title reads, I want to know how to clear the Google search history list.

Heard strange stories that its intentionally difficult to clear as the US government uses the searches for 'big brother' studies hence the reason why there's no advertising.

Can anyone help?

Yep.

They all start appearing as you start typing in the search field.

So when my son types in Arsenal, you understand why I want to clear that history.

The simplest way is to just arrow down to the item you want to get rid of and hit the delete key. Or you can clear all history via tools, internet options
