What Warranty Work Have You Had Done

Just interesting to see what warranty work has been done to your car, just to see if we can get an idea on common problems. Other than regular servicing

I have had to take my car to FORD a few times

PROBLEMS:

CD stuck in 6 stacker - My fault! But got it under warranty...hehehe

The little stickers on the control centre were peeling off; around the heater control knob and fan knob. So they replaced the whole f#*king unit!! As Ford dont supply the stickers!!

After they installed the new unit, heater positioning buttons weren't working so had to take it back and they installed another one.

Drivers side seat belt replaced

Both XR 6 badges on side skirts replaced - plastic film peeled off, caused rusting

Crank shaft positioning censor replaced

Centre console back air vent kept falling off - replaced

New brake pads due to, to many brake shudders

There is probably more but cant think of anything else at the moment, maybe some of your replies may get me my answers

Well I have been pretty lucky so far. 2005 XR6 Turbo MK II

Yesterday they did a few adjustments to stop the door trims creaking.

Thursday it goes back in for:

New headlights as both leak and fill with water, and or condensation at the carwash or after rain.

New brake pads (premium brakes) because one of the front ones squeals. Glad they are doing this because the standard ones are almost stuffed anyway. Go price some premium brake pads, ouch.

My car goes in for warranty work tomorrow (05/07) for the following:

-New passanger door skin (old one keeps coming off the door)

-New light control for driver's side rear door (when you open the door none of the interior lights come on)

-New engine bay stickers (they were falling off when I got the car)

I have already had the battery replaced, these are just teething problems & so far im pritty happy

I was wondering if anyone has had problems with the steering wheel badge and crash pad.

My previous BA, I had the pad replaced twice as there was a noticable line running down the middle and the Ford badge is curling up. Now the BF F6 has the same thing. The Ford badge is the most annoying as it will eventually bend right out of the recess, must be a problem with the adheasives they use.

I would suggest everyone with a BF check their windscreen. My car looks like it has a layer of dust between the glass layers, and it is noticable when the sun shines on it. I have tried a clay bar and windex, but it is definatly between the glass.

I cannot compain about any major problems as they are all minor and should be fixed under warranty.

Mine screen had the same thing on it.

Looked like over spray on it.

Seemed to get used to it though as they said they would have to replace the screen, I'll just wait till it gets chippy then I will replace it

Aug 05 F6

Boot light not working (not the globe)

Brake squeal (they deglazed once but still squeling, even after punishment at track day, and 15000kms)

Boot realigned as wasnt closing properly.

About to also go in for

Sub Popping, rattling or something

Steering rattle when turning

Brakes squeal (again/still)

As well as 15K service.

Exhaust Heat Shield rattle several times.

Radiator end tank leak (possibly into gearbox cooler also). Replaced 30,000k

Gearbox front bearing noisy and bands burnt. Replaced just after 30,000k

Drive shaft vibration prolly went back in 180 deg out when gearbox replaced.

Squeak squeak squeak from heater. Replaced heater fan.

Next service XR badges on skirts peeled, gear shifter paint worn thru, sticker around gearshifted lifting and creased, rear FA_CON badge.

So if it wasnt for the radiator end tank killing the trans, not much trouble at all.

Rear tail light scratches on the inside lenses

Yellow spotting on blue spoiler

B pillar rattle over every bump

Roof trim sagging

Boot lining departing

-idiot PD department drilled 20 million holes in my tub liner when fitting -hard lid

-brake squeling

-noisy gearbox

-diff whine

-LSD single spinning on me occasionaly

-excesive fuel consumption

all of these problems are ment to be ahh normal,
