I have found that the buildup is fairly greasy and is easliy removed. If it is a bit tougher, you can buy spray cans of throttle body cleaner which I would not spray directly in, but onto a rag. It is a degreaser of sorts and I don't like the idea of that washing the oil film from my cylinders.It only takes five minutes to pull the plumbing off to get to it. I don't want to get too carried away and have half the car on the garage floor. Are we talking about the same bit? The black thingy with flaking paint and turbo cast into it..... yep, that thingy. The intake crossover pipework.
