I have put all my sound systems in my self, done lots of cars and never had a problem, well a small fire in the boot of the old car but beside that nothing! Though in my opinion they still use the preamp in the conversion so its still not a true rca, just convienient. But you loose speaker outputs so everything has to run of the amp. I was told it won't start the car unless the ICC is in.←The ICC screen can be updated to colour so that you can hook up an external DVD player, but this is not cheap.Visit www.asllogistics.com for further information.The ICC controls audio as well as all the ventilation settings, so none of this will work if you remove it.As far as starting the car, I see no problem with this, as long as you leave the BEM (located underneath the ICC) in place, as the BEM is what controls the security and body controls.I would not attempt to remove the ICC.
