Talked to a guy that owns a Typhoon that was leaking gear box oil

took it to the dealer and was told that Ford wont cover the replacing of the

box ($17k is this ture ),

also was told that the German Engeiners whated to look at the box

before he can get his car fixed.

He has told them where to go and to fix his car.

IT IS A STOCK car , no mods

has anyone else had similar problems?

Rob

I dont think a 60-70k car would use a 17k box

that's what I was thinking too, and gear boxes can be repaired too :spoton:

Sounds like utter bs. If the car is stock then it would be covered by warranty. ZF would want to see the damage if it did fail though.

I was told

It ran out of Trans oil , through a faulty seal

Box is rooted

I just checked my calendar - nope, it's not the first of April.

I haven't seen anything about this on any other Ford forums - if it were true I'd expect some news of it to be about the place.
