So you guys are actually saying that the NA XR6 (and maybe XT) have the same exhaust, while the XR6T has a different setup. I mean it would make sense, but I haven't heard what the turbo's sound like.

I should have a fair idea come Friday, which is when I pick up mine... Turbo of course!

Yes it is a different setup. It sounds completely different.. more gruntier.. I love the sound :D

I thought the exhaust setup on the XR6 was same regardless of Turbo or N/A :unsure: ...with the obvious exception of exhaust manifold.

I'll have to peek at both next time I get a chance....

:D Had a guy who owns a muffler shop check my turbo out while at a BBQ, & he reckons that you couldn't do much to improve it anyhow! With some mods a bigger "dumper pipe" may make a difference, but its pretty good for a "stocky " exhaust.

Hey maybe I a bit weird but I know the XR6T has a good engine note but have any of you guys listerned to the induction noise? Sheer heaven!! And to answer what mostlikey has already been answered, the XT and The XR6 have pretty much the same exhurst system. The XR6T and the XR8 have the twin system. If you look at the XR6 and the XR6T you will notice only one side of the chrome tail piece is open on the XR6 and both are open on the XR6T and the XR8. It appears to me the the pipe size is 2 1/4 " which adds to 4 1/2" to me plus smaller pipe usually means better gas speed. Just a change of muffler ( get rid of the cat if possible ) should make the car less choked up. PS Having driven all of the car bar the GT, I think theres very little in sound bettween the XR8 and XR6T, 8 has the V8 sound but the Turbo has that oh so nice induction whine.
