No doubt Ford could have coded the engine mamagement to discourage mods such as exhaust and air intake etc., but sooner or later there will be a after market chip that will solve those problems.I'm staying stock for the term of the warranty and lease. If I buy it at the end of lease, I'll consider tweaks. Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/265-modifying-your-xr6t/#findComment-2257 Share on other sites

Even if you pull it out before servicing they will know you have changed something and most likely void your warranty :( Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/265-modifying-your-xr6t/#findComment-2270 Share on other sites

Given say a WRX, what power increase would an exhaust change give, anyone know?? If I changed the exhaust in my 200SX to a good quality free flowing exhaust I believe the power increase is supposed to amount to around 20-30 +KW at the wheels. Guest slapper Guests Posted 06/12/02 11:08 PM Share Posted 06/12/02 11:08 PM I wouldn't be surprised if the Ford Techs were scare-mongering so as to deter you from modifying your car. Subaru dealers were saying the same sh*t with the WRX & their ecu never logged anything.
