It is often hard to judge wheel spin in moded T's because the temprature (etc) play a huge role in it. Somtimes I have issues getting any power at any speed other times I can light them up at 90km/h!

The only way to really know if your gona have a run is to have already given it some on that trip so you know exactly how well the T is behaving that day.

I totally agree with you F6 UTE  :spoton:  and I'll be the first to admit, when it comes to getting the power to the ground, I'm not always the best at it. Gotta learn to control my adrenaline first..

I think another thing I have to realise is that, even if they get me on the jump I have enough torque/power to reel them in relatively quickly provided I don't floor it and lose traction. I do admit though, I don't drive my car hard often, and I don't practice launching my car, or getting it out smoothly without wheel spin. I think its something I'll have to look at a bit more now, especially since the mods. It really is a different ball game when compared to how the car handled when it was stock.

Kaayrist Jimmy - and you were fussing about your tyre pressures.

Go buy an auto and it's point and shoot and capable of embarrasing pushy Porsche GT3 drivers.......and stay away from Lancers as they are often piloted by young d@ckheads looking to try and prove themselves on public roads often at their own expense and the danger of other innocent road users....hmmm does that strike a familiar note?!

Save driving buddy and I mean SAFE, :spoton:

Jimmy,

I had the same problem. I had a R34 (not a gtr) that wanted to run me. First we did it on the roll and he got smashed. The I came to a set of red lights and he wanted to run again. 1st just lit up, second still spun (just a little) ( he was up my date as he was behind me at the lights)... as soon as 2nd got grip I did the guy by a country mile. He then drove past as I was chucking a u turrn to go home (yes I drove past my home turn off as I had to in my initial run :pinch:) and gave me a big thumbs up out the window. The bloke had numerous gauges and stuff hanging of his pillar and had a huge exhaust.... Obviously the mods did not do much for him :spoton:

Moral of the story... the factory dunlops are horrible :spoton:

dingah, as I said, I rarely give my car a bootful.. and had no intention of doing so.. until he started revving the guts outta his car. The reason I didnt go him the second time was the reason you stated, safety! Especially after my accident, I'm even more placid on the road.

hey jetute... factory dunlops are better then my nankangs :spoton:

Hey Jimmy,

Maybe your stock beast might have nailed your modded arse on a short 100m run????

I dont have an issue on a dry day with the trac control but tiny bit of rain and I might as well put a white hat in the rear window.

Get in to it Jimmy...

Just be careful to pick your moment...

I beat a motorbike twice... in a row, the other week... he had me from the standing start, but through 2nd (wheelspinning but powering on the whole way) I was reeling him in, and I hit 3rd and just went around him... he couldn't believe it, shaking his head, asking what on earth have you done to that? Then he wanted a roll on run from 60kph... me in 2nd...

No problem... traction for me then was so much of an issue...

I reckon I put an easy 10+ car lengths on him from a roll on from 60kph... to the top of 3rd...

He was riding a TRX850 half faring sports tourer... obviously not an out and out sports bike... but I don't care. I beat a motorbike in my car...

TWICE... :msm:

Nice...

Jack :spoton:
