the brackets are right... how many have been sold?/ how many have complained about brackets?? LOL you do the math.

If you cant figure out how to fit it without major problems... pay someone $50 who can

geez... even refitting stock crossover etc requires some bending and pushing LOL... it doesnt just slide in like a cock into a wet woman.

it works and is EASY to fit!!!!

Your ment to leave it all lose, bolt it up then tighten it. With regards to bending the brackets its nothing major and a lot of the bending is done when you tighten it all up. What do you expect for a cooler at that price, hell you could pay more for another item, have to grind away at parts of your car and leave the splash guard off :spoton:

Its base selling point is as a drop in replacement....if there was a 'drop in' replacement at a couple of hundred more and I was aware this stuffing around was necessary, I'd have happily paid it. But I never got the impression this one wasnt. That said its in, and Im sure it'll do what its designed to do....

As a cooler specifically designed for the application I dont quite get why the brackets need bending...

Im happy to be wrong and told I put the brackets on wrong....but I have seen a pic or anything even in the instructions that say whats right... :)

I'll have another look anyway next week...hopefully I know the fitting of the bottom brackets before then to check my decisions and tell myself Im stoopid :)

Ive refitted the stock crossover numerous times, it required no bending and pushing. It didnt require parts to be bent to refit it.

Im NOT complaining about the brackets in case you didnt notice....Im ASKING if I made a mistake and asking for guidance on how they align. If you can help with that Id appreciate it, that was my assumption. I DONT assume something advertised as a drop in isnt what its advertised to be...

your not stoopid and yes the brackets require a little bit of bending... very simple really.

I have fit 3 and all cars have had to be bent just a little different.... im not mechanically minded but would say its the easiest job I have ever done on a car!!!

For a few hundred more you could have had a Process West Stage 1. Drop in no cutting, only drilled one hole and enlarged two others.

No sweat mate, Im getting her converted to LPG next week so I was trying to get my simpler mods completed prior to her being tuned....in retrospect for someone like me installing my first the Process West MAY have been a better choice, but the price cant be beat on the Monza :) I'll pay a few bucks extra when I get her tuned I hope and get the bottom brackets sorted and NEVER offer to help anyone install one :)

Actually just a follow up....the lower bracket with the right angle bend in it (as opposed to the one that's just smoothly twisted), is that the one that goes on the drivers side (I assumed that by the instructions which said the 'extra bend' went on the drivers side)?

BUT...does the right angle bit have its corner UP or DOWN when oriented correctly?

Thanks for any help...

Remember that not all coolers are created equal so spending a little more can be well worth the extra performance gained from it.

I guess its a bit like sex...the 1st time you did it, it all worked, it was just awkward, you just got better with time......

maybe it should be advertised as bolt-in, after your seventh attempt?? :spoton:
