Yes, never change the intercooler without at least putting the car on the dyno to check its ok.

If it was the standard tune and you put that cooler on it would most likely be fine, as they are low boost and tame in the timing from factory... now you have a different tune, the effects of a lager cooler will be different, so take it back to you tuner to be safe... Im sure CV wont chanrge you much just for a touch up tune

I would be more inclined to say that it wont have much of an effect, I should have elaborated earlier but I recall Simon (XtremeF6) doing some flow bench work on the coolers and doing some comparisons, can't remember the results and really can't be bothered digging on AFF for the post, but the results showed that the core in the Wog cooler whilst outflowed the standard and F6 cooler but was not by a vast amount, assumption for this is due to its bar and plate construction. However the core offers 3 times that of the surface area of the stock intercooler, which is where the the goodness really comes in to play in it being a effective heat transfer unit. The Ford ECU should only really be effected when flow characteristics are changed not cooling efficiency. In saying that with stock tune I did NOT notice any difference in the way boost was built, outright power of the vehicle, however I did notice a better fuel economy, and more consistent performance in hotter weather, which correlates with my theory about it not flowing a lot better than the stock unit but being a way better heat transfer unit. I have said it before and I will say it again, the real restriction is in the stock intercooler pipes not the intercooler core itself, the stock intercooler uses a fantastic core, its just poorly sized. But in saying that it is always a smart idea to make sure that everything is in check by logging the change in the cars behavior either on the street (if you have the capability) or on the dyno.

No it shouldn't, the intercooler allows your inlet temps to be a lot more consistent as I have measured, the stock cooler does quite a decent job of cooling charge air but can't do it for very long...The restrictive stock pipe work is still part of your inlet so hence not stuffing up your tune.

I disagree from my experience.

When I fitted my ASE cooler I drove like an old lady just to be safe before it got retuned. When it went on the dyno the boost was way up compared to the stock cooler and they didn't even get close to reving it right out because it started to ping badly. A few adjustment with the software and all was sweet again.

Perhaps with the wog cooler you won't notice any difference and Fat-Tony found above, but if you use another cooler which flows better then you will have problems without a re-tune.

I know with PWR tube and fin coolers the boost can spike a bit, Adam is your intercooler a bar and plate or tube and fin item?

Perhaps the Wog bar and plate core might be a little more restrictive than the other items, or my car was just weird.

no your car was not/ is not weird... mine ran fine with the wgo cooler when first fitted :idunno: custom tune came a little later.....

that's just my experience though

Tube and fin.

The tube and fin was recommended over the bar and plate to me by a few different tuners and ASE themselves for everyday road use.

Ahhh tube and fin, that would explain why you got a difference in flow compared to the stock bar and plate intercooler. :idunno:

All wog coolers are bar and plate, and fairly well accepted in the industry that the tube and fin outflow bar and plate coolers but aint as effective at cooling.

That's why the tube and fin was recommended to me.

It still cools far better than stock but for a road application the benefit of increased flow outwayed the extra cooling (buggar all) the bar and plate provided over the tube and fin.

Each to their own of course, they both have their pros and cons.
