If you like Vegemite but aren't a fan of the 'new' waxy texture and over-saltiness of it, try MightyMite (aka - Dickmite). I have it on good authority that it's like what vegemite used to taste like in the depression!Lumpy

Posted 01/03/07 07:52 AM Share Posted 01/03/07 07:52 AM OK...Veal Ragout ( a great sauce for the gnocchi in the other thread )Ingredients.250gr Veal, minced6 roma tomatos, peeled and chopped. ( Don't use canned stuff, too bitter )4 Shallots, diced finely2 sticks celery finely chopped2 carrots also finely chopped1 cup of good quality red wine ( use cab saz or pinot )olive oilBacon stock cubepinch of saltCook the shallots, celery, onion until the shallots are clear.Add veal and break up with a fork, keeping it as fine as possible add the salt at this stage, it sweetens the meat and brings out the natural flavour.Once browned, add the wine to degalze the pan, and cook until it is reduced by half.Add the tomatos and simmer for atleast 30 mins.YUM
