tough as nails

would u mind givin rough driveline/engine specs to us ppl that aren't aware of your xc. I love droolin over old school muscle

Grab a coffee.....

Block: 351 2 bolt Cleveland block, resin filled to welsh plugs, diesel sleeved.

Stroker crank to take capacity to 378cu in.

6in Eagle rods, Ross custom forged pistons, comp ratio 8:1

Crow cam, dunno the specs, all I know is it is a round one!

Hi energy 8ltr sump, double row timing chain, hi capacity oil pump.

Externally balanced.

Ford Motorsport "Yates" alloy heads, lightly ported. O/size valves, Crane roller rockers.

Active intake manifold, Active plenum with twin 66mm throttle bodies, all port matched.

Vortech V3 J trim supercharger, 3.5in piping, air-to-air front mount intercooler.

Haltech E6S computer, fuel injected, driving 8 x 13b Turbo fuel injectors.

Twin 3 in exhaust to mufflers, then twin 2.5 in over diff.

The driveline is stock! Yella terra flywheel, clutch is a Hayes 11in street and strip, leading to a stock Single rail, to a factory 9in disc brake diff!

That is how the engine stands now. 589hp/439.8kw at the wheels. We are very happy with that.

After tonight, we have decided to pull the engine out, pull the heads off and send them away to be ported some more. Aparrently the port sizes are a little on the small side. While the engine is apart, we are going to upgrade the cam to a full roller item, the blower to a V4 XX trim, and change the exhaust to a twin 3.5in system all the way. and probably a few other things here and there.

And I spose I will have to upgrade the gearbox as well! :spoton: Would love a T56 behind it, just finding someone local to do the conversion is the problem. I would love Mal Wood to do the T56, but he is too far away.

Ross custom forged pistons,

You get 'em from EBAY?

:spoton::spoton:

haha Retail on the pistons was $2000, but there was this other tightass that dug them out of some rubbish bin, and was flogging them for a bit over $3000....... :spoton::spoton:
