Went to get some things fixed up, squeking belt and belt shavings. I though my t/c was rooted becuase when I try and clutch second it wont spin at all and it reeks of clutch. Well I did plug the factory map back in before I took it and I think they flashed it with their latest ford tune coz the guy came out and told me that it the computer had been changed or tampered with to get higher boost levels. So it doesnt matter whether you put the factory tune back in they can still find it.

Anyway so nothing was wrong with traction control. Wen I rev dump first it skates all over the shop but then when I try do it in second it doesnt grab. Is it my clutch slipping in second? Can a clutch slip in one gear and not another?

Nesh

When my clutch went, I was noticing it slipping in 2nd and 3rd gear under high torque. I had not noticed it slipping in 1st as it would still light up the tyres. It was probably slipping very badly in 1st however, it was just not noticeable. It is probably at a point where the torque level at which the clutch slips in 1st is still higher than the point at which the tyres break traction.

So, in essence, you don't think it is slipping in 1st but it is very noticeable in higher gears.

I assume MOFOCO told you to fugg off given they noted the "tampering"?

The taller the gear, and the lower the speed you are going when you put your foot down - the more you are asking of the clutch.

So... with modded power - and trying to do wheelies in second, I am not surprised that your standard clutch slips. Try fifth or sixth next.

If you use the power through the rev range - you will probably not get slip. You will probably get slip in 4th at 80km if you floor it. (with a tough enough tune).

No ford just said that the ECU is no longer under warranty coz it has been tampered with but the rest of the car is still under wrranty so if my ECU blows up then I have to pay but if something else goes wrong with the car then it gets fixed.

Im still not sure about the clutch because it still smels when I clutch second so im not sure if its rooted or not. Maybe I can get some advice and BVW2 from some people and also the tuners.

Nesh
