Jewells, I will buy a bottle of Stroh to help ease your pain on the BVW11.

Hey Jules, only just caught onto what happend. Glad to hear you are ok. Even happier to hear how AAMI have treated you.

From memory you are manual are'nt you? There goes my Auto boost theory. Everyone previously who have had this situation occur have been auto's. If you remeber the discussions from past we thought it had alot to do with the way the auto and the boost came in.

When driving mine out of a corner with a fair bit of pressure on the pedal the boost is always smooth, so the only thing that would catch me out was as I applied full throttle when she starighten up the tyres would let go and flick me sideways, then game over.

All I can say is you are exactly right you really have to be careful with these things as they will at somepoint catch you out, and if we were all as good a drivers as we think we are, we would be full time race car drivers.

Mate hope she comes back as good as new, and hopefully be able to catch up on the next trip to Vic.

Cheers

JB :msm:

JB. Youre forgetting were talking about Jules here and not a manual peddler. The 2 are mutually exclusive

Here ya go Arfur... in the correct spot

From what I have been able to see the repair work is shmick , so it should be given that nearly all parts are factory replacements rather than repairs

Car drives as good as new and feels great on the road , nice, tight and smooth in the rear.... complete new rear suspension, rims and tyres.

That said it is going back for another look as it develops a ticking, flapping noise from the rear at ~ 90ks only audible when driving along side bollards or concrete dividers handbrake takes up really low, so perhaps it is related to this ?maybe whoosh whoosh on roids. Anyway AAMI are going to sort it no questions.

I cannot commend their service enough. They spent over 45 mins taking me through exactly what had been done, put the car on the hoist to show that all replacement suspension parts were indeeed genuine and new, as were the rims and tyres. ( no go on any of the old bits though...D'oh)

Additionally the car was 24 hours late in being available to me and a rental was "offered" at no charge without me having an opportunity to ask.

As unpleasant it is in having a stack, these guys from the front office staff , the claim manager and repairers all just spot on IMO

The team that worked on the car are all themselves enthusiasts and just loved ole yella... "such a nice car". After 5 weeks driving an assortment of 4cylinder renters and BA wagon barges, I have to agree.

After driving the assortment of sh*t boxes above, fark these things pull

PS sorry for being so verbose
