WHAT A FCUUKING HASSLE!!!!!!!!!! Anyhoo, ordered a new mobo as the DFI gives me the right sh*tts.why oh why people work with these things day to day is beyond me. You would have read lots of warnings before you downloaded the new version of Bios wouldnt you?Im pretty sure there isnt much you can do, its supposedly an irreversable problem. Your best bet is google I think.

Sell the old one on ebay describing the issue - bound to get some masochist snap it up.

I've spent countless hours stuffing with this board before getting the raid controller up and running, just to find out the supplied drivers conflicted with the board... There's even a little note on a piece of paper in the box stating the memory slots are marked incorrectly in the literature and to run dual channel, use the 'other' slots.. You can stuff around with something for hours upon hours, but eventually, something snaps in your brain where u either take a hammer to it, or ring up and get a new one, of a different brand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The latest Nvidia drivers have a conflict with the ethernet port, disabling it.... The whole board is a mess, and I was trying to 'fix' it.. New one is coming... Maybe someone has a way I can reflash it back I don't know about, and maybe keep it for.................... I dunno, maybe a few years untill I've forgotten about how bad it was, then hook it up as a spare and go thru this again

Guest newl Guests Posted 20/06/06 11:50 PM Share Posted 20/06/06 11:50 PM I'd have to agree with the others' statements to not flash unless you absolutely have to.Sounds like it's time to upgrade to an AMD X64 or Intel Dual Core. And at least get a better known system board manufacturer this time around like Asus, Abit, Gigabyte, or *shudder* even MSI. :DI grabbed an Asus P5P800 (didn't want added cost of PCI Express video card upgrade too) and Intel Dual Core 3GHz processor recently and have been pretty pleased with the pieces thus far. Hell, I even switched from running Linux as my desktop OS (for the past 10 years) to running Vista Beta 2 (gotta give the beast a fair shake before bagging it haha). In the end, something new can't hurt.

DFI & MSI.. DFI had a good rep for speed........... MSI........... ??There's a few out now with support, and I got a Gigabyte K8NS Ultra 939 from Simline.. Arrives today...
