my magic cat was also sprayed black to match the exhaust..

the new cat, is polished. it looks nothing like my old magic cat.

TWEAKEN, any chance of taking a pic of the cat you have on your desk?? as I really couldn't be bothered jacking up the car today/tonight again. If the cat that's on your desk doesn't match whats on my exhaust.. I'll be asking some questions

I went to the exhaust shop that did the original magic cat install for me... he himself conceeded that more then likely the exhaust shop who did the current work used one of their own distributors cats.. said it was pretty high quality though, but couldn't tell me if it was better then the magic..

on a side note though, the car has more boost.. especially in 4th gear :msm: previous to the accident, the most the boost gauge read was around 14psi, or a tad under 15psi... now in 4th it goes to a tad over 15psi.. WTF??

It could be one of 3 things... new cooler (which is the same brand), the new cat, or the colder weather.. I got no idea

looking at dogey repairs like that really sh*ts me, and I love how insurnace companies choose them as nominated repairers and have a lifetime warrenty with it. Its all a bunch of crap if you ask me and it comes down to whos the cheapest.

that's exactly how my old one looked... but magic performance said they had changed the looks slightly?? even so, my new one looks nothing like the old.

I've decided to take a stand against this crap.. I'm gonna list every single fault I can find, I'm gonna take it to independant repairers, and I'm going to call the insurance company and ask why my car looks like an orange... the paint has an orange peel effect... it didn't have that at standard.. its really just not good enough!

Take a stand for sure, but.... I wouldnt take it elsewhere - or you could end up having to pay. Talk to the insurance company - they will probably make you take it back to the same place, but like you say - list every single issue that you can find. If possible - take photos of them.

the 3.5inch cat now looks slightly diff to the 4 inch!!

but they look very similar to old ones!!

the over boosting could have something to do with the cat...

but that would mean the cat is flowing more then your old one.

so you might be on a winner with this cat!!

but that does not make things any better!!

having over spray on your window is stupid...

it is not hard to tape a car up so the paint does not go on a winidow!!

it takes 5 seconds...

I would be going nuts if I were you

good luck and keep us all updated

I really doubt that they have replaced the cat with a magic cat. I'll wait till I receives Simons new tune and dyno it, and see how things go. If he was gonna use a different cat, he could have at least told me so!

Does your magic cat look like the one falchoon posted?? Because the one on my car now is nothing like that.. and if they put a 3.5 inch cat on, then that's just rubbish... I had a 4inch cat

Im in the process of writing a list of all the faults, problems and associated dramas since getting the car back... the fuel gauge isn't even working properly now

some times all you can do is laugh in situations like this!
