When I was on L's I changed all the stickers on my bike (enduro bike though) to 250 decals and I never had any dramas. It's enough to fool most people unless you really know what your looking for.

if you buy a 4 stroke 250 forget pushing in at the lights. (f6 rapid has been known to wake up a few r6 guys as well)

if you have to have a bike buy a dirt bike at least you can only kill yourself and not be taken out by someone else.

Change of plans! I found out a few things about the Aprilia which I dont like!

1, rebuild motor every 15000

2, has to be overeved always when ridden or else I'll keep blowing out spark plugs!

3, I always have to mix petrol with oil cause of 2 stroke(earlier models)

4, b**ch to drive compared to a honda!

So I have come to a decision to wipe out the 250's all together and go for a CBR600RR, and no I dont care if im not allowed!

At least it saves me from upgrading later on :)

have a look at anything motard, no fairing, better cnr speed than 99.9% of roadies and a bucket load more fun. If your not doing hway speeds all the time the motard is way more comfortable and if u so desire you can fit the knobbies back on and go get dirty. ATM you can buy a brand new drz400 sm for under 9k on the rd. If you can, learn to ride in the dirt first. The 2 day ride classes are just ok, but as a newbie it will tend to arm you with just enough to get by but they are better than nothing. If you are restricted to a 250 then fly to qld and do our q ride and in 2 days you can get a full open licience :mexicanwave:

you will have to check your local trafic authority, As in nsw you can ride learner legal up to 600cc. But with the 600cc it all comes down to power to weight ratio.. not to sure about you guys down there in mexico thou.. :mexicanwave:

I loke were your head is at! Motards rock!!!and are perfect for city traffic.easy to ride, light weight and quick off the mark.not great on the highway though.more fun than a 250cc four stroke road bike

not compared to a cbr250. Hes a newbie dont forget, its the perfect bike for new to intermediate. I rode a mates with 700ks on it last week, let me tell you that it would embarass most bikes round the city and mono's omg it was so easy, the lean angles were better than any roady ive been on. It aint no power house compared to my old cr500r sm but for every day and the $ it was a winner. They come with a smaller carb than the drz-e but that's a cheap upgrade along with a pipe and jetting to suit you should see 36 odd rwhp. Seriously though, the smile lasts for hours, awsome sliding around cnrs and monoing out. (closed road of course)

In my opinion you will kill yourself on a CBR600RR if you haven't ridden before. unless you have that magic part of your brain that say's "I am just learning don't floor it through 1st and 2nd"

I don't have this part of the brain that's why I was happy to learn my trade on a 250, you learn a lot more about corner speed on a smaller bike, Im no Rossi but I did embarres a few R1's and zxr's around eastern creek on my little wipper snapper, and yeah motards are sensational fun but not sure about the comfort with those skinny seets!!
