Make sure you do a rider training course that also includes getting your licence... I didn't do one, and was just stupid on the thing on the road... that's why I ended up selling it, a couple of very close calls and that was enough for me.

Spend the money on your car as there are too many stupid drivers on the road trying to kill you.

Truckies do not call bikers "mobile organ doners" that for nothing.

Save your money and life and do not ride a bike

I tend to agree here with ZAP... and with the money spent on a bike you could get your engine done and then you can go a race bikes in your car... and beat them :msm:

number 3 for me too pete - bit more distinctive - plus there are a lot of well thrashed cbr250's and a lot of others mocked up as RR's. Not so sure on the aprilias...

just be mindful of the cost if you drop the thing... all that fairing is expensive to repair meaning high insurance cost...

Unfortunately most people who learn to ride will put the bike down at some point...

This can mean ouch as well as cash... I am saying this from experience...

Don't get me wrong - I love my bike, but if I wasn't an experienced rider I am not sure I would be starting out know - particularly given the performance of the car...

I will try again

I had the CBR250rr in Rossi replica colours and it looked great as attached IMHO

But if you can stretch to the RS250 and your in VIC go for it (it is faster at around 60HP), but saying that the 4 stroke bikes are great little things aswell and sound fantastic at 18,000 with a race pipe fitted!!! (around 45HP)

I don't think you will be dissapointed especially if your new to riding you won't get bored with either bike for at least 6-12 months.

Then you can update to a real bike!!!!

Dannopower I not sure about harder to ride than a bigger bike????? It is difficult at first to go fast on them but it's all about corner speed, I know it's a lot harder to keep my R6's wheel on the ground and control the throttle than on my little cbr250rr!!

Bikes are sensational fun do not listen to the other guy's and go for it, Just be careful on the road and do track day's to let your speed out, nothing like it IMO

True... but the bike will cost you that too... and it's another lot of insurance and registration on top.

Ask gogo or xlnt6 if it's worth 10k... and you'll see off most bikes on the street. And I have found bike riders are more impressed with my car than I am with their bike when I'm out driving... especially when you go with them on a roll on...
