In the drunken stuper / twighlight zone that was my world in the moments following the match I sat gobsmacked with head in hands trying to come to terms with what had occured.

Now some some 30 hrs since the greatest tradegy in Australian sporting history unfolded, the repetitive nightmare visions are subsiding and I am again starting to function as a human being.......just.

In an attempt to find a positive pin in a haystack of suicidal negativity that was the result, I have found solice in the fact that Australia made it to through to the semi finals of the 2006 World Cup.

Not many would argue that at the time of the Rev.s brain seizure, Australia were in a better position than Italy to have taken the game. With that in mind, their next game against Ukraine would have been a doddle, sealing their rightful place in the last 4.

I know, they made it to the round of 16 and I should be greatful and proud that they got that far but f@ckit I've found my happy place and it's peaceful and far more realistic than reality itself.

Well it seems that the powers to be want Itali to win so my monies on them.

As a matter of interest, what's been the wash up for the umpire guy? Has he come out and said he's a corrupt, cross eyed  wit yet? Have there been 'repercussions'?

Or is everybody afraid of a horse head lest the dons are disturbed?

Lumpy :msm:
