English Rugby Union?Good on em but, played well and deserve respect.Lumpy Sadly Lumpy...This game by design is completely unfair... that is what makes millions (hundred's of millions) come back for more every 4 years...Imagine what it would be like to go through 2.5years of qualifying just to find out that you don't make the main dance, we made it this year... and we, as Aussie Rules fans and League Fans say to ourselves what has this game got to offer that our game doesn't... well the thing it offers to us is the disappointment of tonight, but what it also provides is that there is hope for tomorrow... imagine what it would be like winning the whole thing... for god sake imagine what it would be like getting to the round of 16... from there... imagine the round of 8... Then the Semi-Finals... Can you even begin to imagine what it would be like to make the World Cup Finals?We have NO guarantee of even getting past the qualifying groups next time around... that means if we dont make it... it's at least 8 years until we are back in to this same place again.... surely you can now see why this game has the world wide support that is does... I honestly may see 8-10 World Cups in my life tiime... equate that to AFL or NRL... in that same time I/we will see 40+ of each of them...It (AFL OR NRL) quickly starts to lose it's meaning...Sad but true... and I am a MASSIVE AFL fan...Jack Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.. football (soccer) fifa, whatever the f*ck anyone wants to call it.. needs to have an after game conference where by refs, coaches, managers, players from assorted teams sit down, watch, analyse the game and point out obvious fakes, and fouls. Don't soccer players feel like utter *beep* mother f*cker wimps when they fall over and no one touches them, and they roll around as if they have broken a leg?? yet, a rugby, afl or whatever code actually sustains a serious injury and keeps playing without the dramatic roll and acting.. I'm born in aus, but from a wog back ground.. (not italian)... and I have lost a lot of respect for soccer from this recent world cup. the players are seriously giving the game a bad name. As for the ref.... had a decent game.. sent off an italian that shouldn't have been (arguably).. then made that call... with seconds left. he should have given the benefit of the doubt and went into extra timeGood on the aussies.. they played really well. Perhaps yellow cards issued after the game for obvious fakes. like an NRL or AFL judiciary. Soccer players get away with too many dives, and it really detracts from the game. Its frustrating watching a fully grown man, jump - twist - and fall to the ground, pretending to have been taken out illegally, when all replays show that he wasn't even touched!
