I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that the person in question would not be required to accept a damaged vehicle even if it was repaired.

The agreement/contract is that the dealership are to provide a new vehicle, that it be undamaged/not-subject-to-repair goes without saying. The ball is in this guy's court. He might be able to bargain said vehicle off this dealership for a 10-20k discount perhaps if he still wants it. I would demand to see the vehicle straight away to determine if the damage is superficial or serious. I'd then also spend 20 minutes looking at the vehicle and offer them 15k less for it.

That is just pathetic... hope it all works out for him, surely they can't give him the car that had an accident as a new car...

fook that sh*te, id tell they could stick it up their erse with Durian skin for lube!!!!

either that or demand an extra $10k after repairs off the price since it will then be an inferior non-new product.

What a nightmare :spoton: no way would I accept that car

I would demand my deposit back and go to another dealer

My dealership does not allow apprentices to drive these cars

No not quite.

Australian trade practices allow a 'new' car to be damaged, for example perhaps backing it off the transporter, and up to 4 entire panels can be repaired or replaced without having to inform the buyer.

Why do you think most dealers also own a panel shop?

4 panels is a lot of damage.. :spoton:

One would assume someone's arse will be reemed over this incident. I too am of the opinion that apprentices didn't work on FPV's, only the senior mechanics.

I'm picking my car up from there tomorrow, after having it's 3000k service and some other items attended to. I hope mine wasn't the other F6 :spoton:

Bad luck about the car, I'm sure the owner can refuse to take delivery of it. I was told I didn't have to take delivery of the Velocity XR6T I ordered when it arrived in Winter White. As part of the delivery process you sign a document agreeing the car is in good order; I take it this is not the case thus the document shouldn't be signed.

I'll ask my salesman exactly what happened when I pickup the F6 tomorrow.

That won't happen. More likely, if the guy doesn't accept the car they'll fix it anyways and wheel it in the showroom as floorstock.

He'll get the option of cancelling the contract, ordering another one or taking the current car.
