an tab you right... we just worked out it will take the missus 4 hours to get to work and 4 hours to get home on public transport   that means leaving the house at 4:50 am and getting home just after 9pm

Cant get a rental and have your insurance company hit the other driver for the cost's?

Did that with my last major one, for the discounted $35.00 a day The other company paid up without fuss but it did mean I was out of pocket for quite a few months.

At least now it's only $10.00 a day - and that's about all the auto pulsars are worth! Don't know how Annie can handle it every day

not sure on that one dags.. our insurer said that we can try but they cant guarantee they will pay up... They said the other insurer will pay for public transport though

maybe ill look for a cheap thing klike tab did and try it that way... its just not possible to take madison to daycare and go to work on public transport. Will have to rent a car regardless and hope for the best.

BCL got me thinking about bodykits etc.... how does the insurer look at getting something else done isntead if I pay for the difference??

Does your insurer do rental discounts? I'm with AAMI (llluuucccckkkyyy) and they do it for 35 or 10 if you pay an extra on your premium. Otherwise you can take it to the small claims tribunal etc.

Sorry to hear about the accident mate, despite the damage it is such a huge inconvenience.

Check your own insurance policy mate, I had a previous repair and I claimed aganist my insurance (which included a rental car) and then they claimed against the other drivers insurance to recover their costs.

Also, when you get the car back, reset all the keys that have access to your car (check the manual for how to do it). Had a Calais repaired a few years back and it was stolen about two weeks later. Only way they could have taken it was if they added there own key while it was in the shop. Cops said it is common.

same as the other guys have said.. must see a doctor and place the doctors report with the incident report to cover your wife's health.. who knows what may happen in a few days, weeks or months..

Dare I suggest you see a personal injury lawyer while this is still fresh in your mind. I'm not one to advocate people rorting insurance companies, but whiplash injuries can linger for years, and are worth a tidy penny.

You might be able to forget about the body kit for the XR and jump straight into a F6

Get it checked out as she may find she has done some damage she doesnt know about. (if you are worried about spending $40 to get an OK from a doctor you can always forward the bill to the person who caused the accident) Especially if she starts getting alot of headaches over the next few months.

As for the boss guy turning up. In most company cars it tells you in a little booklet to deny all accountability because this way they can do a settlement outside of insurance so their premiums dont go up and the driver doesnt get fined.

I hope you guys reported the accident to the police. The driver should be fined for negligent driving.

Sad to hear about the car but happy the little one was not in the car. At a least make sure all injuries are reported to a GP.

My wife was hit buy a car INSIDE a Coles she was a little sore at the time so didnt bother, yrs after she still has pain and there is no way of getting the medical bills covered.

I'm with Suncorp and have the Hire Car option. It's about $20 a year, free hire car for 2 weeks if car is in for repairs..

the insurance assesor came around and gave the green light to get the car fixed. He also said he is authorising the diff and the exhaust to get checked/fixed (not included in original quote). We got to choose who we want to do the work which I felt good about.

however, it will take 2-3 weeks to get it all done that's a lot of rental car payments 2 weeks before they can take it, so that's 5 weeks with a piece of siht!!!
