Hi Guys,

Just took ownership of a Ex demo MK2 BA Vibe turbo.. Loving it. Its bad enough driving customers cars you just tuned when you dont have a turbo yourself..

Anyways.. This baby needs lowering...

Who did you use? Pedders?

How low did you go? 2" drop? Super lows?

How much did you pay (for lowering + wheel allignment)

And, Have you got a picture so I can see.

Thanks guys

Danny.

Congrats on the new car mate. :stirthepot:

There's a few options but most people here seem to go for the King Springs superlow kit. From memory I think it drops the front by 20-30mm and the back by about 50-60mm for a 'level sill' effect.

I had the King Springs installed on my T a while back, see pics below - note that it has since settled a bit more so looks a bit lower again. The rims on my car are 18", so depending on your own tastes/circumstances it could look better with 19" or larger wheels. Springs can be had for around $220 on eBay or other sources and you should be able to get them fitted for about $200. I paid $400 for my springs and fitting. Hope this helps.

I have fitted Kings SL/SSL on my T, I paid in total about $450.00 fitted...

My car has 20's if you have smaller wheels the car will be slightly closer to the ground... but here is a pic... (Hey flukey another pic of my car on here) :tease::laughing:

Thanks guys..

I've carried on the 19's from my previous car, so that will go on once I've lowered it (I cant stand seeing big rims with standard ride height).

So, XR6T8_U, Have you got a combination of Super lows, and Super super lows on yours? I'm presuming the Super super lows are in the back ???

Danny.

The kit you buy from Kings is SL front SSL for the rears, that's all they make off the shelf for the BA (in the SL range)

I got pedders springs in mine mate. dropped just under 2" .. not too low, but low enough to scrape on most driveways :gooff: its the price you pay though!

cost was around $400 fitted.

Heres my thoughts on it.

I originally bought a set of King Springs SL fronts and SSL rears when I had my 17 inch MKII rims.

It looked like this.

After getting my 19 inch rims I have found the car has raised itself by about an inch..

It now looks like this.

If you are planning to get rims down the track. Save yourself $250 and get the SSL fronts and SSSL rears

I will most likely get the original springs reset to a lower rate and see how they go as ive heard they are little more soft and help with launching the car :)
