Timmy Rocks!! .. I was questioning Guus in his decision to play him so late.. I thought he should have been on from the start instead of Wilkshire.

No offence to Wilkshire, he is an alright player, but he was out of his depth...

When timmy come on, you could tell the quality of the player , you can tell he can match it with the best of them...

We left it a bit too late for comfort, but we come through with the goods...

Bring it on brazil...

Actually a draw with Brazil and a wholloping of the Cros would do it.

Turned out a great game but at half time I was almost inclined to go to bed - glad I wasn't tired and stayed till the end.

Viduka was a star - he couldn't move all game without at least two Nips being on him like bloody hemorroids - and he still managed to make breaks and set others up for shots.

Great play by the coach - I reckon he knew exactly what he was doing - leaving three good strikers to come on late in the game when the Nips had run out of legs. We ran them ragged in the first half and it was an absolute travesty that they got that goal. I thought they (Nips) actually had better chances in the second half but their finishing was poor.

I was quite despondent late in the second half.

All the hooha about "We made the World Cup!"

I thought , what a waste. The chance for Soccer to shine in Australia, and they once again, like many years ago, would fail to get a single point on the board.

How many shots at goal were wide and half-hearted. Bresciano, Viduka, Kewel.... It just looked like we were simply not up to the grade.

then on comes Cahill...... not a pretty goal; slammed between 2 dozen legs... But it got through.

Then the Japs had a good attack run, and I thought it would get through to give them back the lead.

The Ausies held on, and that second goal of Cahill's was an absolute gem.

Reminded me of the old pinball machines, hitting the inside edge of the left upright, veering across behind the keeper hitting the right upright, before going over the line. Goal of the cup series so far.

And Aloisi's intent with that 3rd goal was encouraging. That's how we should have attacked from the start.

Guus is a legend.

He took South Korea to the semi finals last time....

Can he do the the same for us?

Bring it on. I liked what I saw in those final 6 minutes.
