everyone thinks that but I must admit I drive really sensibly, especially when I used to drive to uni 3 days a week. no matter how I drive (I accelerate slowly, use brake as less as possible, and travel a constant 70km/hr on the hume highway on a good day. I still only get 380km out of a full tank. when I drive with an itchy foot, the fuel consumption gets heaps worst, and I only get around 300km out of a tank. im hoping this battery thing will change my consumption figures.

I think that due to it being an ex-co car, the previous owner was a crazy driver, and that led the computer to constantly give out dte of only 394.

(however you'd expect that to be a prediction, but when I drive normally I only get 380kms)

=S

It will not make your car less fuel - just think that it is going to based on some 'standard' driving style/condition.

Your car is just a gass sucker - get a new tune - and it will be better.

The DTE is only a calculated guess - the only true indicator is how soon your tank needs refilling. No amount of resetting and disconnecting will make it any better

Nah - just kidding mate, we can be a bit mean on this site sometimes.

Those of us in the know, thrash the car all the time and reset to save fuel. I have a kill switch on the battery so I can turn it off every time I stop. Even driving fast all the time I get 700ks from a tank.
