I am just about to replace my in tank pump with a Walbro and was wondering from those that have had them in for awhile, what the reliability was like and if you noticed a difference?

I will eventually get a surge tank and Bosch 044 up the front of the car and just use the Walbro as the push up pump.

Are they an alright pump to put in the T?

Rob.

Bought one from MRT Performance, it shat itself after 9 months. Just siezed up completely. I bought another the same and replaced it.

Problem was not really to blame on the pump, more so crap dirty fuel. Seems to run my 968's ok without any other fuel system mods.

Bit fiddly to install correctly, make sure the hoses dont blow off.

I had one fitted in November, 2003, and started recommending it as an intank replacement. The first one seized when new, then replaced and no problems since.

It is imperative that the hoses are correctly installed, and that there is no crimping of hoses.

It is a very worthwhile mod to make.

You probably won't need to go with an additional Bosch pump unless you are going over 350-380rwkw. I did go with 1 additional Bosch pump when I was running 360rwkw a few years ago, but that was overkill at the time, and not really required.
