Suspension Mod

I have the 30mm adjustable on the P and it's great. Whiteline and two other suspension shops warned against upgrading the rear from the 19mm bar to the 22mm. The BA/BF has the tendency to lift the inside tyre whilst cornering and this could lead to a nasty accident if it caught you out in the wet.

They said it was best to leave it for the track.

Thanks Ninka - I should have looked at that thread before posting - certainly agree with your sentiments on the handling outcomes - have you fitted a stiffer rear bar?

Dingah

Yes, I fitted the 22 mm on the rear, and I would have thought the stivffer bar would help in keeping the inside tyre on the ground during cornering :spoton:

I have had no problems with my 'T" :spoton:

Hi Ninka

Yeah I thought so too, but they said the IRS/ control blade suspension didn't like a stiff bar. Something to do with the angle of the dangle and how the suspension setup itself didn't have a lot of weight in it to counter the increased force. The theory beats me but I do know that one of the track guys in the east pulled his bar off because he didn't like the way it effected the steering.

I might try one one day.

Fair enough :spoton:

I'll have to test this one day, as it doesn't take long to swap between the Whiteline bar and the original one.

So overall Ninka - you would say handling is better with both? I have both on order at the moment - but have had my doubts about the rear one.

At this stage - I have ordered:

Front 27mm and Rear 22mm - both non-adjustable.

I contemplated the 30mm - and rear 22 together, or the front only (27 or 30), but went with a slight compromise on the front - for comforts sake, and to try and keep some balance - add the rear. (from escort racing days - adding a stiffer front swaybar made the ass end kick out more).

Definitely handles better, far flatter through corners, and more predictable when sliding out the rear.

I have the same as what you are ordering, only mine are adjustable.

Cool - thanks mate.

Have you played with the adjustment at all?

Where are they set at the moment - maximum, middle, ???

No I have not done any adjustments.

Only 2 choices on the bars, as there are only 2 holes.

oh - not overly adjustable then are they?

Unfortunately - I have a 3 to 4 week wait to get these bars!!!!

Price in NZ$ for front is $236 or Aus $197. Havnt got a price for the rear yet.

But.... sounds like they are a better mod than the King Srings. Maybe they will be next.
