Had Glen at ESP Racing fit a new sway bar to the front of the T yesterday - a CAPA supplied Whitline front swaybar - non-adjustable.....BFF21 BA Front Swaybar, 27mm Diameter priced at $143.00

A little apprehensive when I saw how much thicker and heavier it was compared to the original but one drive quickly showed this to be by far the best suspension bang for the buck spent so far.

For less than $200 the big arsed Turbo now drives like a far smaller car. Despite the best attempts of Canberra roundabout architects who seem to delight in cambering every change of direction the wrong way, the T now feels neutral through all of the bendy bits and takes FAR more effort to induce understseer. Thankfully the compliance of the suspension and ride appear unaffected (it has Pedders sports coil-overs on the front).

Thoroughly recommended and thanks Glen and ESP Racing  .

Mate good to hear, I had a good adjustable sway bar on my EL XR8 a much heavier car, and it made an amazing difference.

I am thinking of changing the sway bars on my XR6T couple of questions.

Is it worth replacing both front and back?

Do you need to change standard shocks and springs?

Can you get a bar to go over the top of the suspension towers, as in the EL they started to move and could never set it up as stiff as I wanted?

Did the same mod a year or so ago and your right one of the best bang for buck mods going :spoton:

What are the pedders sports coilovers like?

Quite happy with the Pedders coil-overs.....fitted front only.

Maintained standard ride height as APS Cat already close enough to every speed hump but they provided more damping and front end control without again being overly firm. Sway bar certainly compliments them. Ride height and ride quality are each a personal thing and whilst I am extremely happy with the ride and handling, others may prefer something lower or firmer. Also aware that rear shox built to budget by Ford and might need attention in future but so far I am fine with them. I'd probably do them first before considering rear sway bar but generally the car is operated with only zero or one pax so rear 'issues' at this stage. There is an adjustable bar also available but left that alone as did not want be caught with a 'fiddling' option - this way it's done and can now be left alone. :nono:

Errr sorry happy to try and provide but pics of what as there is nothing to see with normal ride height and a sway bar is about as photogenic as Nick whatyoumacallit on a hot day.

Love that Avatar

Thanks Ninka - I should have looked at that thread before posting - certainly agree with your sentiments on the handling outcomes - have you fitted a stiffer rear bar?

Good stuff Dingah.

I looked on the website and it seems they make an anti roll bar for the ute rear suspension.

Might be a worthwhile investment with their anti tramp kit. Has anyone fitted the ute version???
