Flash Tuner - Are Generic Tunes Different

yeh I realise that but the point in making is that if you have a heavily modified T, why would you want the latest update. But im sure if you have flashed your box back to stock you could then upload the new ford flash map on to the box as the box would not be VIN locked anymore once you load the stock map back into the car. Though im not sure if this will effect any custom maps on the box.

You get a custom tune

You go back to Ford so you change back to stock so not to ruin your tunes.

How is this new stock tune from Ford put into you CAPA box?

Do you just overwrite the old one? Or will the box need to be reset hence reseting your 3 higher boost tunes?

Even if you flash it back to stock the VIN is still locked. VIN is recorded on first connection to a "clean" box. (Box with a blank or free VIN field)

The new flash overwrites the old factory tune in the tune box. You still retain your 1,2 and 3 custom tunes.

That way you can not share 1 box will all your mate's,

why do you think it was looked for in the first place?

You go back to your tuner and he resets the box.

ok I get it now, the tuner has to reset the box, so if you were buying a used item for instance the car would have had to be returned to stock and box be reset by the tuner before you can use it.
