Different consumers are prepared to pay different amounts for things. So for those punters willing to spend more on a car u need to offer them more for their dollar. This is why FPV and HSV exist, to cater for ppl willing to pay more.It all boils down to the dollar. The more models you have in your line up the greater chance you have of making a sale. There is a massive difference in what people want in terms of luxury, performance and looks and ford cater for all of this. I bit of a weird question really IMHO← Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/26046-why-does-ford-have-different-versions/page/2/#findComment-392054 Share on other sites
chipa_12 Member 182 Member For: 19y 2m 11d Location: Canberra Posted 08/06/06 03:28 AM Author Share Posted 08/06/06 03:28 AM Obviously different falcon models... for different people... like I said before.. Futura, Fairmont, Fairlane, GHIA and stuff like that... fine I understand that... but why different XR6 Version??I have an old El Xr6 aswell, that didnt come in a different version, what about the AU? ... an XR6 was an XR6.. I bought it cause it was different to a normal falcon. It was the 'sportier' model. That was the whole point of having an Xr6... You bought one cause it was quicker and sportier than a normal Falcon. The question was trying to ask why bring out a different engine to whats already supposed to be the sportier model? As you have it now, a N/A XR6 is no longer a sportier model , it just looks better than a normal Falcon... If XR6 is supposed to be the sportier , quicker falcon then why not make all of them that way.. why tone it down ??Yes Obviously its all about money, the benjamins, dinero... but I think that Ford are almost selling the name of XR6 short by toning it down and not making it really more sportier than the average falcon..my 2 cents and if you dont like this question or topic then kiss my Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/26046-why-does-ford-have-different-versions/page/2/#findComment-392055 Share on other sites

Manufacturers will introduce model variants according to what their marketing guru's anticipate will fill demographic groups. The more group overlap, the greater the potential number of sales for a given R&D cost. It's all about making the best return.
