Hey Ninka,

Are you able to detail all the changes you needed to do to upgrade to dual zone climate control ? I've seen a few posts about doing it, but no-one seems to have a complete "how to" ? I'm assuming you went from premium sound ICC to dual zone type ICC ??

Cheers

Robin.

I can do this once I'm sure it all works, which won't be for a couple of weeks, as my engine and transmission are not ready to go back in the car before then.

hey, you need to take it to ford to reprogram the icc unit and climate control module by wds, when you finished and back to 2gether, the climate control and radio wont work untill its programmed by wds(ford). thanks

The ICC is currently at ASL Logistics in Melbourne, and they will make some changes and re-program the unit, so we'll see how it goes.

Hey Ninka,

How did it all turn out. Were you able to get the climate control upgrade all working ?

Yes, it works a treat :spoton:

All luxury pack options are working as I also fitted a brand new FPV 'high' series instrument cluster.

Had a few issues with a faulty BEM module, but that is now sorted

Engine and trans are back out of the car again though, but that's a story for another thread :spit:

Gee well done. If you are so kind, are you able to give a "quickish" run down on all the parts required and what was needed to be done. I'm sure many guys would be interested in understanding what was involved, including myself. I've thought about getting a dual zone climate control ICC, but wasn't sure on "what else" is needed.

Cheers

OK this is the list of mods required to make a complete 'Luxury Pack' ICC conversion.

XR or F6/GT ICC unit with dual CC and Premium TFT screen (must be XR or FPV ICC due to blue backlighting colour)

New passenger side mirror with ambient sensor

New wiring loom for passenger side door

Sun load sensor in top of dash (dash has to come out for this)

Split air mixer shafts in Air Mixer Box for independent temperature adjustments (dash has to come out for this)

Additional servo and wiring to drive independent temperature adjustments (dash has to come out for this)

High series BEM

High series light switch (for auto headlights)

Re-programming of HIM and BEM modules

I think this covers it, and obviously this is only feasible if you can find a wreck where you can get these parts at a reasonable cost.

DO NOT believe what you see on e-bay where some sellers make you believe that all you need is a Fairmont/Fairlane ICC for this to work - IT WILL NOT WORK PROPERLY, and lighting will be green and not blue :yeahyeah:

Ninka.

Thanks for the rundown on this mod.

The Ute will have Colour ICC and dual climate control shortly. :stupid:

I might call it my christmas holidays project....

I've got all the bits needed from a wreck. ( The same wreck your A/6spd g/box is from, and a Fairmont wiring loom to stitch it together.. )

So, how much work is needed to get the loom together? I have read that some engine bay stuff needs doing, to what extent??

Is it easier to take the ICC/BEM to Ford to get it re-progged before I install it?

I already have auto lights, so do you think I need to install the sun load sensor behind the dash??

Cheers.. :spoton:

If you have auto headlights, you should have the green BEM (high series) already, so all you need to do is the following:

Replace the passenger side mirror and door loom to get ambient sensor

Pull out dash and install split air mixer shafts and servo motor

Get your ICC re-programmed (I used ASL Logistics)

Get Ford to re-program your HIM module to fit Dual Zone CC

Get a high series instrument cluster (I will have an FPV one available shortly)

Fit fluid level sensor in your windscreen wash bottle

That's about it I think

Good luck :stupid:

The sunload sensor should already be there, and it can be seen as a small dome in the centre of the dash, right under the windscreen.
