Brakes

Just wondering what people think are the best brakes availalbe for the xr6t utes. Is it possible to get the brembos (4 or 6 piston) off the fpv without having a chasis number.

Not taking into account the chassis number issue required when ordering FPV parts I would say Brembos would be very expensive to buy through Ford/FPV. Better to go through an aftermarket supplier direct yourself. Still looking at $10K+ for f & r setup, plus fitting if required. Dynowog is apparently becoming a distributor for some as yet unnamed and unpriced super duper brakes, similar to Brembo. BCR01 runs a brake shop in FNQ, he may be able to do you a good deal.

6 pot front 362mm and 330mm 4 pot rear are the biggest I've heard of for a Ford.

FPVs have 355mm front and 330mm rear (4 pot/2 pot F6 & GT; 6 pot/4 pot GT-P)

Of course there are other brands other than Brembo, such as AP Racing and Alcon but they are all much the same in price and quality.

On my ute I've got 4 caliper front, single at the rear and at my power level there awesome. I think through the tuner I use you would be looking around $8000 but at least you would get front and rear brembos.

And to correct Falchoon all new fpv's come standard with quad caliper front brembo's only and normal single rear calipers (except the gt-p which has front 6 caliper and 4 caliper rear) and in the utes even if you purchase the premium brake package they only upgrade the front brembo's to 6 caliper the rear stays the same.

Personally I wouldn't go through ford unless you now someone who works in ford as when I bought my tornado ute they wouldn't let me bring it back and upgrade to brembos.So in the end it comes down to what your willing to spend.

In the end I got mine for $5000 fitted as they were 2nd hand and had only done 1500km's so I was lucky but see how go.

You could ask Mick (ms700) too, he's got monster Alcon brakes fitted to his ride. Put simply, they look sensational.
