Some sort of laminate?←Cutting slots in the MDF to almost full depth works well.I did curved corners on some pelmets a couple of years ago, and it worked out great.Just moisten the MDF with a little water before bending it, as this minimises the risk of it breaking Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Paradoxx Colossal Member Member 5,049 Member For: 20y 5m 14d Gender: Male Location: Perth, WA Posted 13/07/06 09:44 AM Author Share Posted 13/07/06 09:44 AM Progress is slow, took me a while to figure out how to bend the wood but with trial and lots of error, I managed to knock this up...Its starting to take shape now, next stage is to make the bottom piece that sits over the spare tyre. I need to make sure it fits in the car first (it bloody better!) and I'll take a couple of pics when it is in. I have decided how it will be covered. I'll use the same carpet I used on the box, its quite tough wearing and nice and flat. For the sides I will contrast the black with a white vinyl or similar material that is hard wearing... a bit like the rendered picture I made.
