not yet... that can wait a little longer, unless I get more $$$$ from somewhere :stirthepot:

The subs are 450W RMS I think :stirthepot: It isnt documented... but I'll make sure to find that out.

Hey Steve, fantastic job on that box...

Just another option for your subs though, especially if you're willing to risk something that's not so "brand name":

I have a 10" Peerless sub in my boot, and another one (8ohm version) as my home sub. They're for sale through WES components (who I'm sure you've heard of), and they are absolutely stunning. My home theatre sub used to reverberate a whole living space that was about 12m x 5m x 2.5m... and that's an awfully big living room for one little sub. The 10" in my boot is also very impressive, as the Shazzy Phantomchic can testify.

Have a look at the range:

I think given your power needs & space restrictions, the 12" XXLS 4+4 sub might be an option. It's on the last page, and will suit those small spaces nicely (20.4L Vas).

The trade off is that the Fs or resonant frequency is a high 50Hz, and you'd need to watch that parallel impedance (1.2ohms!!!). Now there's also the 12" XLS 4ohm on page 6, and the Fs on it is a much more acceptable 28.2Hz, and needing a 2ohm stable amp, you can whack in two and run it at 1ohm parallel! :spoton:

...but it's recommended Vas is 80L, which you clearly don't have. Still, my 10" (4ohm XLS, page 4) has a Vas of 21.4L and yet it sounds just fine mounted free air where the factory sub used to be. Go figure.

I think when it comes to getting it right, the numbers can only tell you so much. The best test is using your ears. Give it a go! If it sounds good, go with it.

Incidentally, my subs cost around $290 a piece, so that may give you a ballpark on the 12" versions. To find out for sure, ring WES: (02) 97979866.

Mate each to their own - you should've seen the speaker boxes I knocked up last year. They were only plain old rectangular and I still managed to balls it up. You could charge $400 for what you've done there...

Ive had my subs for about 6 months, but because Ive been concentrating on performance upgrades they've only had about 1 months use :)

They're rated at 200W RMS, Single Voice Coil 4ohm

That fusion amp you're looking at will only deliver 125w to those 2 fusion subs at 12.6v

Because they're Dual Voice Coil subs they'll have to be wired in parallel, drawing on a 4ohm load, and that Fusion amp only delivers 250w at 4ohm @ 12.6v.

As mine are SVC, with that amp they'll draw a 2ohm load giving the subs they're rate 200W each

:)

Mmmm it works a little differently than that...

As you know Impedance in parallel is basically (R1*R2)/(R1+R2)

As they are dual voice coil the total load will be 1 ohm, and the amp is

stable at 1 ohm producing 550W RMS at 12.6V - plenty for those subs...

(4*4)/(4+4) = Z1 (=2)

(4*4)/(4+4) = Z2 (=2)

(2*2)/(2+2) = Total load (=1)

At 14.4V the amp produces 700W RMS at 1 ohm :fool:

Great little tool there :stirthepot:

I went to Alberts in Joondalup, they sell Rockford Fosgate stuff which I am also interested in, however I dont think I will get a deal this good.
