I think whaling is abhorrent.

I liked Chris and Craig from Today today guys phone prank to the Japanese embassy or high commission asking for a visa to come to Japan and kill a few Japanese people 'for scientific purposes of course'.

Its a disgraceful practice and the World communities should do more to discourage our Asian neighbours from continuing whaling.

Guys, one issue which is being overlooked is the following:

Where else in our civilised society would it be acceptable to harpoon an animal, drag it behind a vehicle for up to 20 minutes, before finally making a successful kill - NOWHERE

WSPCA and other scientists have stated that there is NO humane way of killing a whale at sea!!!

Everywhere else we strive to be humane in our dealings with animals, so why does this not apply to such gentle creatures as whales?

Imagine the uproar if someone harpooned a cow, then continued to drag it behind a car while shooting at it with a small caliper rifle until it was dead - Acceptable, I don't think so.

Sustainability has very little to do with the debate

Let's give them an alternative to harpooning whales.... how about fat chicks! No damn shortage of them.
