I had an edit with tune yesterday. My '03 XR6T is completely standard. I did not want to do any internal mods for now.

I'm running about 10psi. It did 122rwkw on dyno before value springs gave up. Now I'm told the plugs need regapping & valve springs need replacing. The power comes on heaps quicker so 5500rpm comes up real quick which is when the valves start bouncing, now I have to back off throttle at this rev range. So is an edit worth it, I think so but do yourself a favour and wait till you can afford to do the springs as well. I know this has been covered a thousand times on this site. But I still see plenty of people wondering if just an edit & tune is worth doing.

Am I happy well I'll let you know when the springs are done.

My 2 cents.

as ford number 1 has said your tuner should be able to tune the car so that the valve springs do not stuff.. and the gaps on the plugs need to be set.. tuner should have informed you before you paid for it..

Ian hav'nt you see the post on ya show'n'shine thread letting you know it on its way when the piggy bank recharges.

The tuner at Chiptorque was only instructed to install the programmes in stealth box by Herrods. I'm not sure just yet as to exactely was has been done I hav'nt even payed for it yet. I picked it up yesterday and have only done about 30kms since.

I have a printout from dyno showing figures. I must say the car performs much better now but thought I would share my feeling as to what happens if you do not get springs done as well. I guess that is what happens when you cut corners. The tuner did say that they have tuned back the car to stop vavle bounce but I think it still drops off at 5500rpm. I'll give it a good run on the weekend and see what I think then.

Stay tuned.

Poor result.

If you haven't paid then get them to take it out and return to stock.

Take a trip to the boys at FIST, good results and he has just been to the seminar in Melb with capa and Nizpro and he is a good bloke.

Herrod is someone elses product at a 30% premium spend the 30% on a custom tune.
