Posted 02/06/06 01:43 PM Share Posted 02/06/06 01:43 PM NEVER use dishwashing liquid on your car!!!!!! always use car wash as the dishwashing detergent is acidic and also the bubbles stay in your door frames for ages and cause rust!←I thought the whole point of using dishwashing liquid is for the acid in it which removes old wax and grease/dirt.. I hear what ya saying though

Posted 04/06/06 07:14 AM Share Posted 04/06/06 07:14 AM I just finished waxing my car...It looks unbelievable... used Meguires Tech Wax, washed it before hand with Meguires Gold Class Car Wash... It had been about 5 months since I last did it and I had forgotten just how good the car comes up after it's been waxed... it feels awesome too, just like satin...Jack

How do you do it?Jack ←hey mate, well its not a clay bar as such, it just feels like a lump of sort of plasticiny stuff.. anyway, you rub your car down with it with some weak soapy water panel by panel, it kind of aquaplanes across the clear coat but removes anything above or stuck to the clearcoat if that makes sense..you do a panel at a time, rinsing off the soapy water in between and afterwards if you run your finger across the paint it feels literally like ultra smooth glass, with no bumps or rough parts or anything at all..when you polish after clayying, the paint has a mirror flat surface for the polish to bond to and gives an awesome reflection.. best thing is, dirt has nothing to stick to properly so next time you clean it, most of the dust etc comes off after the initial hoseoff/rinse!I personally use Zaino polish with a wolfgang clay kit followed with a P21S carnauba, but they are usually much of a muchness and all polishes will look awesome with a clay beforehandthis is a pic is about 3-4 weeks after a clay and zaino if my memory serves me correctly, and after a quick wash to remove dust..http://members.iinet.net.au/~armstronghome/zaino_side.JPG
