I dont think the AWC bonnets are 100% carbon fibre, I think they are still fibreglass with a carbon sheet overlay.

100% pure carbon fibre bonnets would cost a fortune......

and $1300 isnt a fortune?

Gooday, can anyone give me some feedback on the AWC fibreglass bonnet.

Some punk has decided to use my std XR6 bonnet as a dance floor and the dent master dude doubt it will ever look perfect again. Much appreciated.

Dont know who did some break dancing on it but it doesnt look too pretty!

Probabaly have I fitted in the next month (ill give you a yell). Need to suss out what coloured stickers to put on!! Probably have TURBO 240 written on them.

The carbon bonnet is, as mentioned earlier, just a fibreglass job with a layer of carbon on top.

It is no lighter than the fibreglass job. And when I spoke to them, they suggested it offered very negligible difference in strength.

'What benefits does the carbon have over the fibreglass? Why would I buy the carbon, over the fibreglass job?'

'Um... It looks good?'

'Haha, fair enough.'

Ive got a fibreglass bonnet on now and although it was not sourced through AWC, these guys have been great as they helped me resolve some issues. Mark & Adam have bent over backwards to help me at no gain for themselves, so a big thumbs up to them.
