Undoubtably Ford will release the BF MkII just before the VE is released or very close to this time. It will be a very imporant tactic to take the shine off the release of the new commodre and to maintain the BF's in the spotlight. All tactics.

Does anyone know if it will have any changed sheetmetal & or headlight/taillight assemblies changes upon the XR range?

I've heard there are a number of cost downs in the Mark 2 that have me worried. They have been trying very hard to come up with a smaller rear brake package for the car, a lighter starter motor..and maybe a few more things.

I'm going to do some detective work this arvo to see what I can find out.

Highly doubtfull, BF MKII will only be running changes to make sure packaging and price/value meets VE.

At a guess, theres possibility for side-curtain airbags, more grunt on V8s (5 - 15kw, 30 Nm - fingers crossed for the sake of the BOSS). And yeah, MAYBE cheaper & lighter parts as said above - but doubtfull. There was talk of a 6/6.2 ltr V8, which was canned in the U.S about 3 years ago, and recently resurrected, but we wont see that for at least 2 years. Were really quite lucky with the inline six, it gets so much attention.

BF MKII will be it until the new falcon comes in 2008 (18months). We may see a MKIII with colour upgrades, depending on how well (which I think will depend on the economy of the v6's) the VE's will sell.

I think you will find it migt be a couple of months after. The VE is being released in August (sometime in july for the press) so hopefuly we will see them at Bathurst. :crybaby:

I've heard they're using a smaller turbo on the next model to try and stop people making more power so easily.

I've also heard a whisper of the current diffs being given the flick in favour of a ZF unit.
