Sounds like a decent recommendation to me. Some of us also have extended warranties that we're not too worried about invalidating Anywho I'm glad things worked out OK.←HiJam Perfomance done all the work. MY car is under lease but I intend to keep it fo 3 years more than the warranty. I should be able to buy the ext warranty through the vehicle lease. Saves a few dollars.←HiYou can get a Ford Extended Warranty bit I got mine through Allianz. I think it ws $1360.00 which is for 3 years or up to 160,000kms. Bought it over the phone through Sunshine Ford in Southport QLD.Paul Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/25823-blew-the-turbo/page/3/#findComment-390633 Share on other sites

A group III base stock is not a man made 'synthetic'.A couple of oils that are 'real' synthetics are Mobil and Motul. Then there's the boutique redline, royal purple, amsoil etc...Its quite dissapointing some of the oil company's are able to get away with ripping off the public.Explains what I am talking about in detail.http://www.pecuniary.com/faq/oil-base-stock.html Edited 14/06/07 01:41 PM by Cubes Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/25823-blew-the-turbo/page/3/#findComment-544272 Share on other sites

Parked the car in the shed. Sat there for 3 days. Went to kick it over and the turbo was making a weired noise. Turned the car off straight away and you could here the turbo spooling down.Rang local Ford dealer told him that it ran out of warranty but I have the extended warranty (not through Ford). Didn't really want to no about it. Thought stuff you.Spoke to a performance shop here in Mackay. told him the story. He organized a tow truck to pick the car from home. 2.00pm he rang and said looks like the turbo was stuffed without pulling it apart. His words " give me a contact name and number for your extended warranty and I will sort it out". Big thanks to him.3.00pm he rang again. Car will be fixed under warranty including all parts (rebuilding the turbo) and labour. Couldnt not have been happier. Best $1360.00 I could have spent on the extended warranty. (Please note my car is stock in the engine department)Going to pick the car up tomorrow so I will let you all know what happened and how its going.CheersPaulHey Paul.
