the 1/5 scale cars can cost up to 7000 dollars.

I race with my father at morebank nsw we use the rs5 carbon fibre chassis 4 wheel hydrolic disc brake 5 horsepower 25cc komatsu with heaps of work done to the motor its a real hoot. runs on unleaded not nitro.

if you put pvc pipe strips over the tyres you can drift pretty good.

its easier in a 4wd car than a 2wd too much oversteer in a 2wd.

Looks like a lot of fun.  Interesting to note that there are electronic aids to maintain stable control in drifting.....

and there I was, thinking you young kids are really talented!    :smilielol:

Someone could make a fortune if you could develop an equivalent kit for a real car.

Amazing mechanical detail in the 1/5th car...  just like a real one really.  How much are they?

i think those big 2 stroke mofos go for $15-1600 PLUS radio gear.. would be adawesome fun though !

I had big dramas tuning my savage until i found a septic savage forum and found some info on there. there savage motors are bad for air leaks so the first mod is to reseal the carb and engine back plate. the also suffer from a half tank lean out problem so fitting a header tank fixes that. once you have done the the rip.... :fool:

yeh I went on to some of the savage forums, fixed the lean out problem and read every savage tuning guide known to man but still not really any luck haha.. I think im just useless when it comes to tuning stuff haha

I saw one of those HPI 1/5 buggys the other day at Perth RC, daaaaaaaaaaaaamn they are impressive!!!

heavy as f*ck, really well built - even the tyres are beadlocked to the bloody rim hahaha.. would cause a shiiteload of damage at full noise into the shin/a car/ a kid/dog etc

$1500 with everything which isnt too bad, maybe 4 taxtime :spoton:

about 4 months ago I got a scale model drit 200sx Drifter!!

good fun!!

it is electric but very quick!!

you can choice how much control you want on the back tyres by putting plastic bands on the rear rubber!!

if you only put 1 band on it is like a normal RC car but as you turn the back pops out about 30* and you swing it round!

as for big drifts put all 3 bands on and you swing round like a monkey on heat!!

the kit comes with an electric speed control so you can power out of a coner and control the angle of the car!!

they are about $500.00 for the kit!

but that includes everything from car and body to RC.

Where can u get one?

And what cars do they have??

Cant beat an AE86

You can pick them up from motoquipe stores. and most hobbie shops have them.

autobarn had them last time I was in there.

they have

180sx

200sx s14

200sx s15

AE86

350Z

SKYLINES R34

DRIFT UTES

RX7 (OLD SHAPE ONLY)

all these cars are not stock.

my s15 came with a stick on front mount crome deep dish wheels GT wing m3 mirrors a crome muffler.

they are great fun...

holy crap I sound like a car salesman!!!

lol
