If you deliver your vehicle to the dealer for the sole purpose of serviceing your vehicle than you would reasonbly expect it be driven, especially for alot of mechanical repairs. Anything other than this, such as collecting the lunches, picking up or taking home customers, or a thrash of your car because it goes hard, is not line with what you would reasonbly expect to be part of the service and therefore would be usage of your vehicle that you have not or would not have foreseeably consented to. This is where the 'illegal use of converyance would exists'.

If perhaps 30K's were driven in order to change a head light globe would you expecxt this?

No we wouldnt. you need to drive a car the diagnose driveline faults. How do you know the car was used collect lunches or taken for a thrash..?

30k's IS NOT unresonable to diag and fix a drive line issuse.

if thew owner of the car has issuse with it he should take it up with the service manager.

i'd just be happy the issue was fixed.

Did you even read his first post? He specifically asked them to check for driveline faults, where did all this crap about picking up lunches and thrashing the car come from?

Bottom line 30 kms is not unreasnable to diagnose driveline faults.

maybe a quote is in order:

I had my car in today for warranty work and requested they check the tail shaft for a vibration and a diff whine as well as brake shudder (3rd time in for brakes).

That would be three faults. Diff whine - would probably have to take the service manager for a run as well - cause what can they do - replace the diff - expensive.

I think 30ks is not too bad.

Now revheadrobbo, you and I live near each other and 30K's is from our area to the middle of the city. A fair bit of distance I think and a bit to much for your diff/driveline issues.

Fellas

Its all good. I was just after your opinion and I thank you for all your responses. Probably the main reason why I asked this is that the dealer that I took it to is with in 2kms of a nice 100k zone. So thinking that they would only drive that part of road is why I asked the question.

Car is now sweet once again and Im happy
