If I see a de-badged \ de-spoilered car I see it as a family car. (all be it a fst family car) with the badges and spoiler (without going over the top) I think it really makes the car look good and not just another $29,990 family car.

Because the wing and badges turn your family sedan into a awsome handling sports sedan..

news flash.. your car is still a family sedan... O MY! :crybaby:

Bain that looks fantastic, I wasn't sure until I saw that picture, GOLD. Badges coming off asap, and maybe spoiler. Is spoiler removal a pain in the a$s job?

It's easy to take off but leaves some ugly holes in your bootlid... I've taken off my spoiler too but I was able to swap my bootlid with spoiler for another without at no cost with a local Ford dealer through my spray painter... all I paid for was for the spray painting of the new bootlid...

Thanks :)

Very easy to take off.

Inside your bootlid there is a connector plug you will need to disconnect. Its on the right hand side looking at the rear of your boot.

Once disconnected undo the 4 bolts - 2 each side. Pull wing off carefully once undone.

If Ford did their job properly you will have a smooth boot with 5 holes in it. But knowing Ford they will have tightened the nuts to much and raised some of the metal. - Like mine.

Currently I have waterproof white tape over the holes. Im trying to source a super cheap white rear bootlid to replace it with.

If you car is a MK1 you can add a rear bulb into the brake light on the parcel shelf. If you have a MKII you will need to source a parcel shelf brake light as they took them out.

Slightly off topic but still on the subject of badges. Must say I haven't seen the arse end of too many BA Phoons, but had occasion to go to the FPV dealer that I bought Ole Yella from. ( I get my services done elsewhere)

blah blah...

At the end of it they the  :censored: s wouldn't budge over a freakin badge, and I was calm polite through out.

We buy ~ 30+ cars from this dealer per year and this is how they treat you.

PETER WARREN FORD - WARRICK FARM  :kissmy:

:finger: Last car you sell to me or mycompany, condescending farkers

Maybe You should take a new FPV for a test drive, and stop buy the local chemist and buy some dental floss during the drive?

yeah, ford over tightened my bolts.. caused a slight deviation in my bootlid :censored: but getting it all fixed, and re-welded, painted etc for $300.

Dealing with the holes, I used little rubber grommets from clarkes rubber. Worked great, didn't let a single drop of water through. If you have touch up paint you could paint them, and that'll give you an idea if you like the look of the car before spending money on changing it.

They took them out in late MK I cars too. AFAIK they took them out early 04.

Sorry for digging up an old topic, but I thought it would be better than starting a new one.

Anyways I started debadging my car tonight, and started taking off the F A L C O N badge. I listened to a mates advice and only took of two letters for a photo opportunity, here it is :P

Needles to say, I'm going back into the garage now to finish the job :)
