What are you talking about????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

ive spoken to the folkes at gas inject technologies, now the problem with the xr6 turbo is that there injectors aint big enough, there regualtor will supply 400hp worth of fuel but injectors only 47hp each injector, do the maths over 6 cyl and it aint enough, until they get funding to build bigger injectors I was told only way that it could be done is that you would need to run an additional 6 injectors on the plenum, fabricate a rail for it, and run an aftermarket ecu to control it sending the cost through the roof to save a few bucks on petrol it wont be financially viable to convert at this point in time. hope this helps

i gather they use Gas injectors instead of a mixer setup. ie the gas stays liquid until it hits the injector. I guess there injectors are just to small to provide the amount of lpg required to make the hp.... :spoton:

maybe "nozzel" is a better word than injector because i doubt you would need to "inject" gas thats going fron liquid to gas through the nozzle....imagine the cylinder fill capabiltiy of the "nozzles" where big enough...muhahahaha

They are not liqiud injectors the system still has a convertor that changes the gas from a liqiud to a gas and than the injectors inject the gas into the manifold.

And yes I can see that there would be a problem with enough gas flow.

I have found out that it is possible to do

Gas injection,

Duel fuel set-up car starts on petrol then when reaches temp 30-40deg it changes to gas.

But wait there is a little problem $$$$$$ on a Ute $4100 60lt tank (under car) on a sedan it about $3800 50lt tank (in your boot)

Very very expensive is it worth it ???????????????

Talking to the state distributor that I buy my gas from they say there is not large enough injectors on the market but if you used to sets of gas injectors it could work.

The sedan price would seem about right for the normal system the other thing to remember is the system adr complianent as this is what it must be now.

ok im talking about a dedicated LPG setup not dual fuel, I dont think they are pulling my leg I have seen this technology with my own eyes. They use a dedicated rail and injectors for injection of LPG into the motor. For those skeptics out there check out there web page http://www.gas-injection.com/media-release...chnologies.html and see for youself before you make comments and im referring to a post which was earlier stated that you can contact these ppl in this thread and I was stating a reason why they cant help ne1. Im glad some ppl understood wat the hell I was on about

I have seen this system on a ed falcon up here it is still vapour injection but unless they make injectors them selves the same problem will be not enough gas flow.

And although they may have the standard ba system approved they will still have to have the turbo system approved.

Ian

PS the car I saw did have some problems but this was an early set up so they have probaly fixed it now.

the system I saw down here was on a rodeo, and it still retained duel fuel, and looked to have some sort of computer controling the injectors it had individual injectors for each cyl running of each runner, I was told it was fairly expensive setup but due to teh fact that it still would retain a vapour injection there is a 47hp limit per injector.

These are teh guys that do it

There is only one person I know who could answer the question & be correct.

I'd call Jeff Watson (AKA The Professor) on 07 38912424 & ask him.

If anyone knows he will, besides he's probably one of the best if not the best fuel system specialists in Australia.

His main business is supplying LPG systems to manufacturers like Mercedes etc.

He also built the fastest 4 cyl down the qtr in the world, which currently is still the 2nd quickest 4cyl to go down the qtr in oz. (He designed the fuel system for the quickest)

Here is a link to a similar thread on the same topic. In that I've posted pics of a gas injection system installed on a BA Falcon (non turbo). You may find it interesting. The ECU controlling the gas injectors is a laptop programmable piggy back system.

http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.ph...pic=19930&st=20

So far more than a dozen cars have been done and everything has been sweet. The issue wrt flow capability is correct though, so limits the max HP, but there is no reason they can't be doubled up.

Robin.
