was at the tuner all day on friday, finally got a few good numbers out the car after starting out with a measly 175rwkw, caused by a melted cat and a few issues with the wastegate/actuator.

it was making a promissing 298rwkw at the rears :fool: but issues with the actuator raised their heads yet again.

today I was just cruising when I heard a huge bang as I changed to third gear and now it sounds like someone tipped a handfull of ballbearings in the gearbox. :pinch:

drove it home as it still had 1st 2nd 4rth 5th and reverse.

even though it is a pain in the ass for it to happen I was releived it wasnt the engine that had thrown a rod as I initially thought

so now the hunt begins for a suitable replacement the T56,

what I need to know is what else is needed for the conversion, obviously I need a t56, but do I need the folowing-

gearbox support member

clutch+pressure plate and race bearing

flywheel

slave cylinder

anything else I am missing?

Cos autos are for hairdressers :spoton: LOL

That is a bit unkind.... besides, most of the guys with Autos have had the hair plucked from their balls.

Here's a "how to" I put together a while back on what is needed when you swap a T5 to a T56

http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.ph...topic=15848&hl=

and here's one on the clutch options

http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.ph...topic=18457&hl=

You can use your T5 clutch with the T56 til you upgrade (if that's what you want to do).

Cheers

Robin.
