The NUT Member 163 Member For: 18y 10m 6d Location: Townsville Posted 26/05/06 12:29 AM Share Posted 26/05/06 12:29 AM Hey guys this story may be a little lengthy sorryI live in Nth Qld and I recently purchased my XR6T from a dealer in Sydney (wont mention names, unless you guys ask) the reason for getting the car from Sydney is it was the exact car I was after, and I couldnt find much in QLD. Anyway I took delivery of the car approximately 4 weeks ago. The car had 9,135 km on the clock so its pretty damn new, its an 05 Ba MkII etc etc. And before I tell the story I know what you are going to say, and YES I know its just as much my fault because I should have checked myself, I know ok!Anyways, on with the story....... While driving to uni yesterday I encountered a flat tyre, pulled over in the college car park and didnt think too much of it. When I went to the boot to retrieve the jack, tyre lever etc. I realise that there is nothing in there! nothing at all. No one around I know, so I ring RACQ (road side assistance), however while waiting for them I realise that all my mags have a specific lock nut, which also didnt come with the car! So RACQ arrives and surprise, surprise they cant do anything either with out the lock key. So I locked my car up for the night, and rang my local dealer this morning and am currently waiting to have my car TOWED! Over a flat tyre! Just so the local dealer can get it off for me!Now as part of having my rego changed over from NSW to QLD I needed a roadworthy certificate done. Now correct me if im wrong (honestly im not sure) but I thought they had to check that as part of a roadworthy examination. I had 2 roadworthy certificates done here in Townsville, and surely they had one done in Sydney to sell me the car to me in the first place. So 3 roadworthy's have missed it.So sorry guys for writing this long story; but the moral of all this is not to whinge; its just to say beware when buying cars from dealers you dont know! As far as the car goes, it runs like clock work! Couldnt be happier! I love my car soooo much! But it arrived to me with no jack, no tyre leaver, no log books, no service books, no airfilter in the box, and no spare key! (I have since had the log books sent up) So anyways, be warned guys!My poor T didnt deserve this punishment! CheersNut

I would be call ing the Sydney dealership and giving them whatfor for free. Forget about 2 cents worth, fill a bag with the f*ckers and start swinging. That is pure incompetence if I have ever seen it.

Was it a Ford dealership or a private one? That is pretty pathetic of them either way... you would think that a car with only 9xxxk's on it that all these items would still be in the car and would've probably never have been used...Does it have a spare wheel and tyre? Or did they take that out too?Jack

The NUT Member 163 Member For: 18y 10m 6d Location: Townsville Posted 26/05/06 01:44 AM Author Share Posted 26/05/06 01:44 AM Yeah the car is nearly new! I bought it from quite a well established FORD dealership in Sydney. And yeah I would love to know where the hell these things have gone? I did the give the dealership a ring back this morning to give a small piece of my mind and the response I got was - yeah we had it in the yard for about 3 weeks and its not uncommon for the guys in the shop to pinch a couple of things out of them. I am flabergasted.....? What happened to customer service, especially when you have just bought a $37,000 car!

You cant sell a blastered vehicle without all the things you have listed.

You should expect to have all these things in a car like this. Ring up ford customer assistance and see what they say.I'd be pretty pissed myself.
