Here's the reply I recieved from Ford.

Thank you for your e-mail to Ford Motor Company of Australia Limited (Ford Australia).

The automatic transmission and differential are both sealed from the factory. The fluid level does not need to be checked unless leaks or reduced performance are noticed. For further information we recommend you speak to your Authorised Ford Dealer.

A lot of people are forgetting about the diff oil.  I don't have the facts at hand however, from memory, MOFOCO recommend the diff oil be changed more often than the engine oil if you are doing a lot of highway driving or high speed stuff.

Correct me if I am wrong guys however, most people tend to ignore their diff oil and occasionally check the level.  I don't believe the diff oil is included for servicing in the service intervals (I could be wrong here, just going from memory).

Maybe if we worried about the diff oil more often we all wouldnt get so much bloody diff whine.
