im really interested in this... I have a turbo, but I was looking to fit a cooler with the pipe exiting on the right side and was going to use the NAxr6 pipe to t/b like you have... got any finished pics?

Guy's I've already been there and done that. pic below

Both pieces highlighted will not hold together. The plastic intake highlighted in red has a rubber seal on it that connects to the throttle body is only glued on. It will pop and then leak boost at anything over 8 psi of boost.

I had to fabricate a full alloy pipe to handle extra boost.

I don't mean to sound like I'm having ago. :msm: just trying to offer some advise from my experiences.

I love to see someone doing something different to others and I've been watching your project with interest.

"GOOD LUCK"

man that looks nice as thanks for your input , all opinion is valuable whether it be good or bad and yeah I did have a feeling that the plastic wouldnt hold too much boost and as mine is a project in the works a setup like yours would work fantasticly thanks heaps man cheers 51KBA

yeah, I didnt think the bit highlighted in blue would hold a whole lot, but I thought there was a chance the bit in red would lol... oh well, it looks alot cleaner with the stainless pipe like in mackas, so that's the path I'll be taking then... good work guys!

so I took my ute down to a mates dyno to check my air fuel mixture just to make sure while I was driving it that it wasnt leaning out , before I get my edit .

so we threw it on the dyno , air fuel checked out nicely on 3 psi boost

so we put the boost up to 5 psi and the air fuel was still fine (with the aspirated computer ) and I ran 249.9rwhp

we then put the boost up to 6 psi and it ran 268.9 rwhp but it was a little lean so we backed it off

my edit is on the way still saving cash

but for a bolt on mod I thought the power was pretty good

cheers 51KBA

Thanks for keeping us informed

I'd say that you'd be pretty happy. It would be good to hear some feedback in your own words how different the car feels out on the road compared to when it was a N/A xr6.

Interesting to see that the factory NA tune was happy with the turbo fitted and suppling enough fuel @ 6 psi. Just goes to show how rich they must be running from the factory.

It will be interesting to see the results once you have it custom tuned with the Edit. Pls let us know torque readings as well as KW output.

Once again well done :spoton:
