$1000? That is slightly worse than the $400 alternative then!

So...  can someone confirm or deny if we can connect a NTSC camera?

Any video signal that is put into the ICC screen has to be NTSC...

However the problem lies in the fact that 95% of all camera's weather they be PAL or NTSC output video as a COMPOSITE signal. The ICC needs an RGB + Sync signal.

This is easy to get from a xbox, dvd player, or PC. Not so easy from a camera.

You can get convert boxes that go from Composite PAL to RGB + Sync NTSC but this is where the dollars come into it I think they are in the ball park of $400...

Well that puts a slightly different slant on things!

The video screen embedded into the sunvisor is looking a cheaper option and possibly more practical in that you can look at the rear view mirror and then move your eyes to look at the sun visor monitor quite easily. Going from the rear view mirror to the ICC would probably take a little more getting used to.

I am quite happy with the location of mine on the visor, I would just have gone with a slightly larger screen if I had my way again.

B*gger - that was what I was wondering about.

Thanks for the advice.

So - converter $400 and camera $100.

or... Buy an in dash DVD Player / TV, with 7 inch screen, and camera, and input for anything else for around $400 - only problem is that it doesnt look as built in as using the standard screen.

.... on the other hand Cobrav8, you could strap your wife to the back of your trailer and give her a mobile phone. The cost of that option... I suspect... priceless!

Good idea!

As for installing DVD player/Screen in the boot - would be kind of hard to see the screen in the boot! My problem is getting a video signal onto the ICC screen. I will have to see if I can get a camera in the right format, or I might just use touch parking for the trailer.

Hi All I know that this is an old thread but I am curently installind a 4.3' screen and a boot mounted camera..

the screen getts its power from the cig. lighter (putting out 12.49 v) I wired the camera into the reverse light and when I connected that nuthing! when I tested this point was only putting out 10.49 v whitch is not enough to runn the camera I know this cause I attatched an external 12v dc power source just to check and it all works fine..

so my question is, were can I fin a strong 12 v dc signal that only activates in reverse..??

Cheers in advance..
